The booming modern metropolis and Malaysian capital offers a host of sights and activities:
1. Suria KLCC - The shopping mall at the foot of the Petronas Twin Towers has big brands such as Diesel, Prada, Cartier, Ferragamo, as well as something Malaysian such as Pucuk Rebung on the 3rd floor, which models itself as a heritage store and art gallery, selling local crafts. There are also good restaurants and an art Gallery Galeri Petronas.
2. Petronas Twin Towers - As well as the shopping mall. the towers themselves are the symbol of the city and remain impressive, particularly at night. Try crossing the sky bridge that links the towers on the 41st and 42nd floors, but for my money the best view of the structures comes from the far side of KLCC Park, a 20-hectare green space downtown. For the record the 88-storey twin towers where the tallest building in the world until 2003 (when Taipei 101 took the crown).
3. Batu Caves - On the outskirts to the north of the city, the Batu Caves are one of its holiest Hindu shrines. You can reach the caves via 272 steps with each one numbered to mark your journey.
